The context
CAnime is a bilingual platform for anime fans in Canada, starting with Toronto and the GTA. It brings local community needs into one mobile-friendly product: second-hand trading, posts, activities, convention information and cosplay photography connections.
What I worked on
Shape a bilingual local community
Build a shared product experience for Chinese- and English-speaking users, with community posts, local activity information and a focus on Toronto / GTA participation.
Connect discovery with communication
Bring together second-hand listings, cosplay photography bookings and in-app communication, supporting the steps from discovering a listing or service to connecting with another member.
Deliver a mobile-first web platform
Use Next.js and Supabase for the platform, with a PWA experience that supports access from both desktop and mobile browsers.
What it delivers
- A live bilingual community platform at canime.ca.
- Connected spaces for community posts, local activities, trading and photography bookings.
- A mobile-first PWA experience with in-app communication.
